To kick off the Fête de la science, Aix Marseille Université is organising an event open to all in Marseille city centre: Recherches Dans la Ville (Research in the City). It’s a festive, convivial evening where you can chat with researchers. As the sun sets, step into a new Marseille venue to discover research in the making.

An edition based on research into the city
After the first edition, held at Iméra in 2024, the second edition of this unique and festive event will focus on research into the city: habitat, biodiversity, food, solidarity, urban narratives and imagination… Come and meet the scientists who are interested in Marseille, but not only! A host of other surprising research themes will be on show, including Who’s the Imposter? blind tests, speed searching, exhibitions and more.
With the participation of 2025-2026 Iméra residents
Researchers from Aix Marseille Université and partner organisations will be on hand to exchange ideas, present their work and share their passion. Rachid Alillouch, Anne Demeester and Maxime Nicolas, currently in residence at Iméra, will be there!
You can find them at the Speed Searching workshop. Based on the principle of speed dating, participants are invited to sit down at a table for an eight-minute discussion with a researcher about his or her work. At the sound of a gong, they move to another table to meet another scientist.
Speed searching and other workshops run continuously from 6pm to 10pm, with regular changes of scientific speakers.
