An Afternoon to Explore Science as a Family at Iméra
Researchers from Aix-Marseille University and its partners will be present to engage with visitors, present their work, and share their passion. Current residents at Iméra—Franco Bonomi-Bezzo, Lola Soulier, Jérémie Brugidou, Daniel Oore, and Laura Talamante—will also join the event.
At Le Coin des Minots, tailored for children aged 4 and up, participants can explore research through immersive installations, illusions, music, computer programming, and storytelling. Scientists will be on hand to answer intriguing questions like, “What is a virus?”
Meanwhile, at the Planetarium, free visits led by the Andromède association will showcase two historic telescopes, an exhibition about the universe, screenings, and daytime and nighttime sky observations. Visitors can also explore the permanent and temporary exhibitions at the Natural History Museum throughout the day.
An Evening Program at Parc Longchamp
Starting at 7 PM, Parc Longchamp will remain open for a festive and convivial evening. Visitors can experience the Museum by night and enjoy innovative formats for engaging with researchers. Events include Taboo of Research (6 PM–7 PM), Who’s the Impostor? (7 PM–8 PM and 8 PM–9 PM), and a Scientific Blind Test (9 PM–10 PM), where researchers present their work in unexpected ways.
The Planetarium will also host nighttime visits and Speed-Searching starting at 6 PM—a speed-dating-style event where attendees have eight minutes to discuss with a researcher before switching tables at the sound of a gong to discover a new topic.
At Iméra, the Soirée Cult’ will offer a unique perspective on iconic films, analyzing female representation in cinema with a young researcher specializing in visual anthropology. The evening will be hosted by Instant Science, known for dissecting pop culture through the lens of experts.
