A former resident of Iméra (2022-2023) in the “Arts & Sciences: Indisciplined Knowledge” program, visual artist Christophe Bruno will participate in a roundtable titled “Who’s Afraid of Artificial Intelligence?” on Friday, October 25 at 2:00 pm. This event is part of the 1st Metropolitan Book Fair and will be held at the Pharo Amphitheater, 75 Charles Livon Blvd, 13007 Marseille.
While the history of artificial intelligence and its applications is not new, its recent widespread dissemination and massive use have sparked renewed fears. The challenges of human-machine interactions are resurfacing with generative AI, particularly with text generator ChatGPT, which has been the subject of debate since its release and commercialization.
Should this automatic writing, powered by AI’s generativity, be viewed as a nightmare for writers and all creators? Is it legitimate to fear artificial intelligence and defend against it? And if so, how? How can we understand and interact with these artificial content creators? How can we experience it, and even foster new experiments? How can we live with it, in harmony?
The 1st Metropolitan Book Fair offers an opportunity to discuss these questions with authors, researchers, and other stakeholders in books, reading, and writing, and to share these insights with the public.
A conference on this same topic will take place on Saturday, October 26 at 10:30 am at the Pinque Lefouque Lounge, Sofitel Vieux-Port, 36 Charles Livon Blvd, 13007 Marseille.
