Research project

Across Oceans, Time Zones, Languages, and Bacterial Membranes: A Transdisciplinary Collaboration on Pilus Assembly and Bacterial Secretion

Project summary

During a spring 2015 Iméra-sponsored sojourn, I will address three specific aims.

1. Strengthen a collaborative and ongoing interdisciplinary research project with Dr. Romé Voulhoux on interactions of bacterial Type IV pilus and Type II secretion proteins.

2. Lay the foundation for expanded international collaborative relationship between Aix Marseilles University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

3. Participate fully in the rich scholarly environment of Iméra, contributing to the investigations of other fellows and hopefully having a few unplanned insights for my own research program.
