Takahashi Harutaka will present a talk titled “Assessing the Influence of Three Policies on Vietnam’s Economic Development: Electricity, Infrastructure, Globalization, and Privatization” on Friday, September 20th, at Sciences Po Aix. The event is part of a French-Japanese series entitled “Asian and International Economies in an Era of Globalization.”

His presentation draws from a paper co-authored with Gerard Sasges, developed during their residency at Iméra, the Institute for Advanced Study of Aix-Marseille University, in 2022. Gerard Sasges, who held the FIAS/Iméra chair, focused his research project at Iméra on “Sodexo and the Necessary Utopia: Capitalist Sustainability, Planetary Management, and the Future of the World.” He is a historian specializing in technology, development, and the environment, with a focus on Vietnam from 1900 to the present. Takahashi Harutaka is currently a Research Fellow at the Graduate School of Economics, Kobe University.
