Project summary
The project proposed to Iméra and entitled “Mouvement national et Guerre de libération nationale (1919-1962): trajectoires, parcours, réseaux, groupes, dynamiques de groupe(s)” (National Movement and National Liberation War (1919-1962): trajectories, paths, networks, groups, group dynamics) involves the study of the political and social dynamics of group(s) at major “moments” in Algeria’s contemporary history (1936, 1944, 1951 and 1962). It (the project) is conceived and built around an interdisciplinary approach, in continuity with my previous research, particularly in the individual, local and national dimensions of political and social history. In particular, this work revolves around the notions of commitment, mobilization, negotiation(s), positioning, reconversion, mobility… of Algerians in the context of the colonial system.
