Tara Deporte, founder and director of the Human Impacts Institute and former resident in 2015 and from September 2021 to January 2022, is now an Associate Fellow at Iméra.
2026 marks the launch of a new type of fellowship known as an “Associate Fellow” at Iméra, the Institute for Advanced Study at Aix Marseille Université. This will apply to alumni of the institute who will be able to benefit from it for periods of two or three years. Tara DePorte is the first to benefit.
eARTh – Creating science-based cultural tipping points in response to the climate crisis
Tara is a project at the crossroads of the Mediterranean and Arts & Sciences: undisciplined knowledge research programmes, combining art, culture and climate.
The eARTh project – Creating science-based cultural tipping points to address the climate crisis– is a two-year research project that explores the role of storytelling, creative practices, and the translation of scientific knowledge in response to contemporary climate, health, and democratic crises, with a strong focus on the Mediterranean region.
At the intersection of the humanities and social sciences, environmental sciences, the arts, and public policy, the project aims to improve the circulation, accessibility, and uptake of knowledge on climate change and urban environmental health.
It will culminate in the organisation of a major event in Marseille, in which Iméra will be a partner.
