Former Iméra resident Sébastien Robert will present his research project Oscillations, centered on the bagpipe, a trans-Mediterranean instrument, on September 27, 2024, in The Hague.
The project was initiated during his Mucem/Iméra residency in 2023.

The first iteration showcases 3D-printed replicas of bagpipe drones from the Mucem collection, which he explored during his Iméra residency. These replicas come to life thanks to a custom-made system designed by contemporary luthier Léo Maurel, in collaboration with art engineer Benjamin Maus (allesblinkt). Following a research residency at The Grey Space In The Middle last August, Sébastien Robert will offer a first exploration of the bagpipe, delving into its character, timbre, and limits through twenty-minute improvised performances.
