Visuel de l'appel FIAS 2026-2027

The call launches at the end of May 2025

The French Institutes for Advanced Study Fellowship Programme welcomes applications from top-level international researchers to develop their innovative research projects in France. For the academic year 2026-2027, FIAS is offering 28 grants: 7 in Aix-Marseille, 3 in Cergy, 2 in the Loire Valley (Orléans-Tours), 3 in Lyon, 2 in Montpellier, 4 in Nantes and 7 in Paris.

The call is open to all disciplines in the humanities and social sciences (HSS) and to all fields of research. Research projects in other sciences and in the arts that propose a strong interaction and dialogue with the HSS are also eligible. Some host institutes for advanced studies (IAS) have scientific priorities that must be taken into account before applying. FIAS fellows will be free to organise their own research, while benefiting from the support and favourable scientific environment offered by the host IEA, characterised by a multidisciplinary promotion of fellows and a close relationship with local research centres and laboratories.
