An exceptional year, with 327 applications received

The number of applications received this year is outstanding: 327 in total for 11 chairs.

As a result of increased efforts to publicise the call more widely in Southern countries, the diversity of the countries of origin of the applications is particularly striking. While more than a third of applications came from Europe and 27 from North America, 74 came from academic researchers and artists active on the African continent (42 based in sub-Saharan countries), 24 from Latin America, 24 from the Middle East, 23 from Asia and 7 from Oceania.
