Research project
The Unexpected
Summary of the research project
“The Unexpected” is an artistic research project exploring the impact of Artificial Intelligences (AI) interfaces on human emotional and psychological domains through an experimental film and a video installation. From chatbox to humanoid robots and artificial companions, we are dealing with a number of perceptive situations – in education, health and businness – wherein AI are becoming the main referents with whom we interact. But what are the emotional and psychological responses to such interactions? How is language employed by AI generating specific emotional responses in its users? Are we still perceiving AI as another entity or are we empathizing with it as we would with humans? This artistic-based research will present an original and urgently needed critical examination of the outcomes of daily human-AI interactions.
