Decolonizing Maghrebi Historiography

Marie-Pierre Ulloa will be taking part in the ‘Decolonizing Maghrebi Historiography’ panel, scheduled for Thursday, January 9th, 2025, with Prof. Maya Boutaghou, Prof. Brahim El Gabli, Prof. Edwige Tamalet Talbayev and Prof. Valerie Loichot.

In particular, she will be presenting the special issue of Expressions maghrébines that she coordinated, ‘Archiver le Maghreb’ (December 2022).

This panel has been selected by MLA President Dana A. Williams as one of the panels under the presidential theme: Visibility.

How do we disentangle a historical reality from its fictions? How does artistic space allow us to question the historical markers imposed by colonial historiography?
