The website for the Mawjaat – Third Places for Cultural Transitions in the Mediterranean project, in which Iméra is a proud partner, is now online.

Strengthening cultural links in the Mediterranean through third places and societal transitions.

Mawjaat is a two-year project funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. Working alongside the French cultural network abroad, it encourages cooperation between creative hubs and cultural actors on the southern shores of the Mediterranean in Algeria, Egypt, France, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia, around shared cultural and ecological transition issues.

As part of Mawjaat, La Friche la Belle de Mai has joined forces with Iméra to launch a joint call for applications for a research-action project on the issues of creative hubs and transitions. Linked to the Iméra’s ‘Mediterranean’ and ‘Arts & sciences: undisciplined knowledge’ research programmes, this call led to the selection of Lieve Wijman, associate researcher at Mawjaat.
