Former Iméra resident and Ukrainian artist Oksana Chepelyk will present her photographic series Manifesto on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 3 to 7 pm at the Visions d’exil festival, as part of the event “Collective Censorship Exhibition.” On Sunday, November 17, she will screen her video Manifesto: Ukrainian Golgotha at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Marseille during a performance titled “Censorship in All Its Forms.”

Through Manifesto, Chepelyk questions the freedom of art in the face of servitude and invites profound reflection on themes like the body, freedom, and commitment. In a context marked by authoritarian regimes and the rise of censorship, these works remind us that art remains a space of resistance amidst growing restrictions on freedom of expression and the threats faced by artists, who are often forced into exile or self-censorship.
