The Becoming Ocean exhibition by Oksana Chepelyk, a former resident of Iméra, will be presented to the public on Friday, October 4, at the Maison Méditerranéenne des Sciences de l’Homme in Aix-en-Provence. Marine biology researcher Véronique Cornet will provide commentary on the exhibition during the Science Festival, in an event aimed at primary and middle school students.

A participatory workshop, inspired by the “Jellyfish” and the Manta Ray, will allow attendees to create a giant mobile as part of this exhibition, which was initially scheduled until September 14 but has been extended until October 14.

The project explores marine biodiversity through the concept of “Mediterranean heritage” as a shared natural heritage. The works on display include the quadriptych Genesis: Mother Whale, the installations Jellyfish and Murmuration: Manta Ray, as well as audiovisual installations such as The Ocean, Gaia, Garden of Exoskeletons, and Ecocide, which examine the relationship and coexistence between aquatic environments and humanity in their struggle for survival.

A few spots are still available for the special CNRS visit on October 4 at 5:00 PM, where Oksana’s work will be presented alongside that of artist Ryan Jamali, who will lead an immersive and participatory game.
