On Friday, October 4, 2024, Iméra (Institute for Advanced Study at Aix-Marseille University) will inaugurate a new series of workshops called “Sensitive Transitions” for 2024-2025 at La Maison des Astronomes, 2 Place Leverrier, 13004 Marseille.
Morning session open to the public.
“Sensitive Transitions” Cycle
Sensitive Transitions is a hybrid research-creation collective that explores sensory dimensions in various work environments and aims to develop a sensory ecology to rethink and act on our transitioning societies.
Originating from an Iméra residency project (2024), its consolidation within Iméra through a series of workshops as part of the “Arts and Sciences: Indisciplined Knowledge” program highlights the fertility of this collective’s exploration. By blending arts and sciences, the collective seeks to address the “crisis of sensitivity” affecting our societies.
The first session of the Sensitive Transitions 2024-2025 workshop series, with a morning open to the public, will be held at La Maison des Astronomes, Iméra, Marseille.
Program
9:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Open to the public – Initial reflections presented by the collective, materialized through the Sensitive Transitions exhibition. In a “collective thinking in motion” process, the public is invited to share their concerns, reflections, and ideas around the issue of the sensitivity crisis before outlining the working themes for the 2024-2025 cycle. |
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Closed session reserved for collective members to work on the programmatic direction of this cycle. |
