Rachid Alillouch, Sustainable Development – IRD/Iméra Chair 2025-2026, will be presenting his book Les projets urbains au Maroc – Entre injonctions à la durabilité, circulation de modèles et greenwashing at an online conference on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025.

Rachid Alillouch has been invited by the undergraduate students (Licence 3) – Sustainable Development and Master students Urban Planning students at the Institut Supérieur des Technologies de l’Environnement, de l’Urbanisme et de Bâtiment (ISTEUB) in Tunis to speak at an online conference. This will be broadcast live to all students and interested parties in the Department of Urban Planning.
Rachid will be presenting his book Les projets urbains au Maroc – Entre injonctions à la durabilité, circulation de modèles et greenwashing. More specifically, he will discuss the Bouregreg valley development projects in Rabat Salé and the Zenata eco-city in Greater Casablanca.
About Rachid Alillouch
Professor Rachid Alillouch is an architect and urban planner, with a doctorate in architecture and heritage architecture. A former deputy director of the National School of Architecture in Rabat from 2016 to 2023, he spent part of his professional career as head of the Agence Urbaine de Kénitra, and as director of urban planning at the Agence pour l’Aménagement de la Vallée du Bouregreg. He is currently a teacher-researcher at National School of Architecture in Fez and a research associate at the Laboratoire Population Environnement et Développement (LPED – UMR151 – amU/IRD). He also teaches at the Institut National d’Aménagement et d’Urbanisme and at National School of Architecture in Rabat.
Rachid Alillouch is resident at Iméra, the Institute for Advanced Study of Aix Marseille Université, from September 2025 to June 2026. He holds the IRD/Iméra Chair in Sustainable Development 2025-2026.
