Afrodiasporic exchanges and the circulation of Afro-Brazilian cultures in Marseille: from the 1980s to the present day
Darién J. Davis, Professor and Chair of the Department of Africana Studies at Rutgers University-Newark, will present an article on Afro-Brazilian links in Marseille, based on work carried out during his residency at Iméra in 2021 as holder of the Fulbright/Iméra Chair in Migration Studies.
The paper in question is titled Échanges afrodiasporiques et circulation des cultures afrobrésiliennes à Marseille: des années 1980 à nos jours (Afrodiasporic exchanges and the circulation of Afro-Brazilian cultures in Marseille: from the 1980s to the present day in English). He will be speaking on Wednesday 27 August at 5pm during a session on Narratives in Transit.

The international conference “Parole artistique, parole médiatique: parcours et performances politiques au Brésil et en France” is being organised by the Institut Français de Presse (IFP) of the Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas and the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA/USP), as part of an international university cooperation programme launched in 2023.
