Iméra, the Institute for Advanced Study of Aix Marseille Université, is organising an open afternoon for tenured lecturers and researchers at Aix Marseille Université and Sciences Po Aix who may be interested in taking a research leave of absence at Iméra in 2027–2028.

Since 2021, it has been possibleto take research leave at Iméra, the Institute for Advanced Study of Aix Marseille Université. Lasting six months, this scheme forms part of the annual national scheme for Research Leave or Thematic Conversions (CRCT).
In the run-up to the launch of the 2027–28 CRCT campaign (September 21st, 2026), the Iméra team is organising an open session for anyone interested on the afternoon of Thursday, September 24th, between 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm. This opportunity for discussion and networking will provide a chance to find out more about the centre, its remit and the research leave scheme.
New for the 2026 academic year: the option of a research leave of absence at Iméra has been extended to tenured teaching and research staff at Sciences Po Aix.
The call for applications for the Sciences Po Aix Fellowship will be open from 10.00 am on September 21st, 2026 until 4.00 pm on October 26th,2026.
Forge links with international researchers
The research leave programme at Iméra is renowned for the links it forges with a community of international researchers, a community characterised by its kindness, its willingness to listen and a remarkable openness to exchange within a unique setting within the local research landscape, an incubator for the exchange of ideas that takes place there.
Enrico Donaggio, Scientific Director, and Emmanuel Girard-Reydet, Secretary-General, will introduce the Institute for Advanced Study, give a tour of the site and answer any questions. Please meet in the lobby of the Maison Neuve at 2.30 pm.
