Rejet Equipe – Regards Sur Le

A look at rejection
Project summary
In the course of this project, we will first invite scientists and artists to look at an environmental problem near Marseille that has received national attention, the “red mud controversy”. Through the issue of sludge discharge into the sea, we will attempt to trace the social relationships and relationships that this environmental problem reveals. The pollution suffered by the Mediterranean Sea is not enough to explain the impact of this affair. If it resonates so strongly, it’s also because it brings to the surface latent tensions about decision-making and the economic and social power relations that generate other forms of exclusion. Taking a pollution problem as its starting point, and combining scientific and lay knowledge through forum theater, this residency project proposes a collective exploration of the various dimensions of rejection.
