The President of Aix-Marseille University, Yvon Berland, and the Rector of the Agence Universitaire Francophone (AUF), Jean-Paul de Gaudemar, signed the convention creating the AUF/Iméra chair on “Structural Transformations and Institutional Dynamics in the Francophonie,” which will welcome its first holders next month.

Organized over a cycle of three academic years (2019-2022), the chair’s potential study objects include:

  • Structural transformations and institutional reforms in resource-rich countries
  • Infrastructure, inequalities, and development
  • Socio-political models of inclusiveness and the definition of related reforms
  • Structural transformations, educational policies, and the employment of young graduates
  • New models of North/South and South/South partnership

By engaging in this cooperation, the AUF brings not only an exceptional international network but also a leading partnership with the Collège de France and the Royal Academy of Belgium, the only other institutions to host joint chairs with the AUF. Indeed, the convention consecrates the idea of mobility for the chair holders between the three AUF partners so that each can benefit from the lectures and conferences of these personalities.
