Presentation of the AMSE/Iméra Chair: A world in crisis

This Chair focuses on economic responses in a changing world. It is based on three pillars: the research centre’s areas of methodological excellence (dynamic and quantitative macroeconomics, network theory, time series/panel data econometrics), a new methodological area with strong teaching and research potential (Big Data), and the geographical location, which is ideally positioned in the Euro-Mediterranean basin. It is open to economic sciences, as well as to other disciplines, insofar as the projects it hosts allow interactions with economic sciences: biology and medicine, law, geography, history, mathematics, neuro-economics, philosophy, statistics, political science, and sociology.

About the Chair’s partner

Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE) is labeled as a University Research School for a project of excellence in which the AMSE brings together research, teaching and development. The research program focuses on economic responses to a changing world. It is based on three pillars: the research center’s areas of methodological excellence (dynamic and quantitative macroeconomics, network theory, econometrics of time series / panel data), a new methodological area with high potential for teaching and research (Big Data), and the privileged geographical location in the Euro-Mediterranean basin. The AMSE offers training at master’s and doctoral levels, aimed at training generalist economists experienced in the use of quantitative methods. The AMSE also focuses on the promotion of research in economics for communities, administrations and businesses, and information for the general public.
