Since the first edition of Scientifica last year, Iméra has continued to collaborate with the University of Aix-Marseille to bring its expertise as an institute of advanced studies to the vast subject of relations between arts and sciences
During two days, the Scientifica #2 event offers the opportunity to discover the Schuman campus in Aix-en-Provence and to enjoy creations and projects combining arts and sciences in a participatory and interactive way. This event aims to address students as well as the general public and specific audiences. This year, Scientifica focuses on specific themes such as the sea, light, the environment, the interaction between human and non-human, as well as the world of tomorrow.

SCIENTIFICA #2

Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June 2023 in Aix-en-Provence – Schuman Campus – Le Cube

Several artists in research residency at Iméra and its academic coordinator will participate in this event:

Jeff Guess, Artist and Professor at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts Paris-Cergy, will present his conference performance “To Be Determinded” on Sunday, June 16th at the Théâtre Antoine Vitez in the morning.

Friday afternoonan exchange/debate will take place on the following topic: Definition and scope of the field of arts/sciences today, dedicated devices and structures, with a focus on the issue of reception and audiences). Constance Moréteau, academic coordinator at Iméra, will participate in this round table.

Oksana Chepelyk, Principal Investigator, Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, will also be present, invited by the Mediterranean Institute of Marine and Continental Biodiversity and Ecology (IMBE).

During your journey, you will be able to discover immersive installations, workshops and experiments, artists’ performances, original sound experiences, an escape game, dives in virtual reality, encounters with artists, researchers, students. But also exchanges and debates scheduled on Friday afternoon: Definition and scope of the arts/sciences field today (dedicated devices and structures, focus on the question of reception and audiences) and Saturday afternoon: The Art of the thesis (research/creation and interdisciplinary arts/sciences theses, testimonies and feedback, career paths and professionalization of young artists-researchers/its French and European).

With the participation for the exchanges debates of: the Network TRAS (Transverse of networks arts sciences), of CIREC, of RESSAC (Festival de REchercheS! en Sciences, Arts et Création)
