Scientific Orientation
IMéRA has set itself the target of contributing to the construction of new transversalities opened and imposed by changes in the world and in scientific knowledge, by providing a common locus for the questions raised by its residents and Members and the region’s research teams and by questioning the most common and most fundamental notions in research.
The aim is to allow for a meeting and adjustment of the questions, practices and methods used by the different sciences, so as to encourage the forging of new tools for comprehension, which are better adapted to the changing world.
As a result, IMéRA's activities aim to:
- Contribute to the adjusting/synchronising of the various sciences which comprise contemporary knowledge, through the sharing of questions and the querying of the concepts and methods specific to each discipline;
- Probe the confines of each speciality, on the basis of commonly shared questions, because it is vital to perceive the boundaries of each field in order to overcome them and to open new horizons.
As early as September 2007, IMéRA chose the theme of crisis to offer a common focus for the questions raised by the different disciplines. This theme will be studied until 2009-2010.
