Selection Procedure
Applications submitted to IMéRA undergo a two-stage selection process. A pre-selection committee shortlists applications and these are then presented to IMéRA’s Scientific Board, which is responsible for the final selection.
All applications are examined by the Institute’s pre-selection committee. Its members are:
- the members of the IMéRA Steering Committee : (Samuel BORDREUIL, Jean BOUTIER, Martine CHALVET, Blandine CHELINI-PONT, Jean-Pierre DAUTRICOURT, Thierry FABRE, Constance HAMMOND, Robert ILBERT, Pierre LIVET, Roger MALINA, Bernard MOREL et Sandro VAIENTI);
- Patrice BRET, consultant to the Scientific Board;
- Jean-Pierre SIVAN, local correspondent for the Scientific Board.
External experts may be requested to examine specific applications.
The pre-selection committee is responsible for assessing applications in accordance with criteria defined by IMéRA. It then ranks the applications according to its assessment and to the Institute’s residence strategy.
The main assessment criteria are:
- the project’s scientific or artistic quality;
- its innovative nature: originality of subject matter and research aims;
- its coherence with the Institute’s interdisciplinary nature: capacity for interaction with other research fields.
The Scientific Board is responsible for the final selection of applications shortlisted by the pre-selection committee..
